I dislike the fact that I have to basically start from scratch for each frame but the overall process seems fun and like something I’ll enjoy using for the time being. I still think 3D programs like Maya are going to be what I end up going for as a job later in life.

Intro to Adobe Animate

Not sure how to do something like playblasting for Animate yet but I figured id show this image cause like, there is a character now. nice. I’m now using a drawing tablet thing so that makes things way easier than using a mouse like I had been earlier.
Quick Start to Animation 7
Haven’t finished the animation cause I wanted to make a character idk why but ok
Basically I’ve got the jump and idle in so that part is completed, the rest would just be my own animations
Quick Start to Animation Review 6
Learned how to use the Trax Editor and character sets to copy and save animations. Pretty cool.

Quick Start Animation Review 5
Look so I know I just needed to make an animation with the turret but I wanted to try rigging and I hate myself so whatever ok this is the progress I’ve made with my character I modified a torus for the arms and smoothed out an angled rectangular prism for the body before smoothing it, using edge loops around the edges to give it a more boxy appearance. The hands are just spheres. The rigging is currently being worked on and I have 3 ik handles, one in the lower body for walking and falling over and two for the arms for general arm things. I also have a pole vector for each arm. The head works with a neck made by the joints, and has two controls, one for the shoulders that also leans the head forward and back and one for the head motion itself, meant for turning it left and right mainly but also for bending it downwards. Currently working on weight-painting if it wasn’t obvious with the video.
Bellwork 9/28/19
What tabletop game inspired an entire genre of video games in the early 70s?
I’m guessing D&D/Chainmail
Quick Start Animation 4
Learned probably one of the best new pieces of information so far with this tutorial, how to use weighted tangents in the graph editor. Essentially its just stretching out a curve in the graph editor but it achieves a very important goal of making arcs smother that I’ve struggled to do without them.

Quick Start Animation Review 3
I learned/reviewed how to guide an object using a CV curve by connecting a group on an object with a motion path.

Quick Start Animation Review 2
Reviewed constraints between objects when animation, specifically how to turn off and on constraints at different points in the animation.

Quick Start Animation Review
Basically I’ve been going through this tutorial to review stuff in Maya, the first section was review that was extremely basic but I have learned about creating editable motion trails.
