Learning to animate and model in Maya.

I’ve completed the cranes rig, thus I am now starting on its animation, throwing a crate. That’s about it. Ye.
I successfully weight mapped the arms and head so that it actually looks good when I move it, which took 3 or 4 restarts, cause for some reason the video wanted me to do stuff with its skin envelope thing but I didn’t this time and it worked fine idk I’m just happy.

I’ve begun rigging a crane and so far I’ve gotten the joints in place and the model moves appropriately, however I have yet to weight map anything.

I’ve both grown the overall size of the leg and adjusted its location due to this, though it will need to be adjusted again before being mirrored over. I’ve also added a pad under the leg.

I’ve worked on the legs, first getting the basic shape down and then using extrudes to add indentations and such things. To connect each piece I used bridges with different settings to get completely different effects.

I’ve adjusted and fitted the stripes on the arm, then duplicated them over to another arm. I’ve also begun the legs.

I’ve added a second seem, this one completely going around the sides of the drone, and also started on the bands going around the arms.

I’ve changed the bottom to be more squared off rather than triangular, also I added a seam in the newly made battery.

I’ve added a second pad to the bottom of the model and did some work scaling it correctly. Next will be changing the bottom of the model from having a single mid point, triangles, and all that dumb stuff, to be a bunch of 4 sided polygons.
